THE EKSPATS, a groundbreaking Nigerian American TV show produced by G2 Animation Studio, was selected to compete at the prestigious Annecy International Animation Film Festival this year. This is the first time a Nigerian series will compete at Annecy, marking an extraordinary milestone for our community and the animation industry. THE EKSPATS competed in the TV shows category against notable series like “Bad Bad Belgium: Uranium,” “In the Know: Yogurt Week,” “Mike Judge’s Beavis & Butt-Head: Sleepover,” and “Blue Eye Samurai: The Tale of the Ronin and the Bride.”
About THE EKSPATS
THE EKSPATS is a comedy TV series that follows the adventures of an all-American family relocating to Nigeria. The series focuses on Bill Diamond, a dedicated yet underappreciated business consultant, who gets a career-saving opportunity that requires moving his sheltered family to Nigeria.
As the Diamonds adapt to their new life, they encounter Nigeria’s vibrant culture and warm-hearted people, especially the affluent family of Nigerian tycoon Solomon Babatunde, who hired Bill’s firm. Solomon’s trust in Bill grows, eventually tasking him with recommending a successor for the Babatunde family business empire. The series promises laughter, heartfelt moments, and an exploration of cultural integration and personal growth.
